I can't be there but wish her all the best from me

Will pass that on when she's calmed down. She's highly strung (heh) before and after a performance. 12 hour radio silence either side!

Can also be heard on BBC Radio 3.

Enjoy the evening, it's a great venue. I wish that I could go, Berlioz Fantastique is one of my favourites.

I wish I could go too. The radio will have to do for me!

I'm a little surprised she's playing this as she's more of a contemporary harpist, but that doesn't matter.

I am so pleased that she's getting to exhibit her considerable talents.

No, it's not that one. It'll be the next Beethoven symphony plus the Symphonie Fantastique.

And whoever was meant to supply the chairs and music parts on BBC4 should be sacked.
I realise she's not on right now, just wanted to remind Andy it's also on the telly box:okay:

I like the standing up and playing from memory bit though.

Get yourselves along to the Albert Hall tonight. My wee sister is playing harp. Kick off is around 8pm.

I doubt there's a prouder brother in the land!
I suspect that you might enjoy this evening!! Hope all goes well. Hope your sis. doesn't forget her mouthpiece!!
(I know a great deal about this harp business!!)

It's a bit more complicated than that...

For those who were wondering...

John Eliot Gardiner and the Orchestre Revolutionaire et Romantique playing Beethoven 5 and the Symphonie Fantastique. I have a feeling the Berlioz needs several harps - and there can't be many 19th-century harp specialists in London. Impressed.

Thanks for the link!

You're right on both counts - the Berlioz needs 4 harps and there aren't many around who can play at a high enough standard. Apparently there are 'some moments' which need improving before they perform in Edinburgh and Paris. Didn't notice them myself but I'm a lowly saxophonist so I don't really have a clue.
