Hi there,

I am trying to identify a Claud Butler which has been given to me by a family member, just wondering if anyone could help me?

Frame Number is 752330

Here are some pictures...

Thank you to anyone who can give me any information on this bike.

Looks like a BSA as evidenced by the chain set. not sure if I can see the ringed CB logo so could be a later edition. If you're thinking of restoring it you'll have a bit of an uphill struggle. The biggest problem will be freeing off the seat post. Good luck.

@jacklitson what makes you sure its a Claud Butler ?

Where is the frame number stamped as from memory i thought old CB'S were always stamped on the bottom bracket not a rear drop out

as @Cycleops says there is a fair bit of BSA evidence and a fair bit of work required so good luck

Could do with some more detail pictures of the lugs and seat cluster. It was not unusual to have BSA components on bikes of the 40's and early 50's due to people building their own bikes to save on the tax levied on complete bikes. The chainsets and pedals are highly thought of especially the single and double chainsets with the bolt on rings. The doubles interest me as the big ring bolts on to the outside of the inner ring. Just had a quick search for a picture but could not find one so will have to take one of mine at some point.
