Claud Butler identification

My friend at work has found this Claud Butler in his Fathers garage while having a clear out.
He would like to know a bit more about the bike, it’s age and possible value?

That looks in very good nick indeed. Not much more than a clean up needed I reckon, though something usually pops up to make things that little bit trickier...

No expert on CB but looks to be around mid sixties, low end frame which has been repainted? I'm sure someone will be able to give you a better idea. Frame number will give you more.
Worth around £50 maybe if the seat post moves. Saddle is worth more than the rest of the bike.

It might be the "Classique" model. See this extract from the 1968 catalogue. Note the colours on the head and Universal 61 centre-pull brake. The V-CC has many Claud Butler catalogues and a marque enthusiast.
