Massive newbie question, sorry! I picked up some shimano pd rd40 pedals today that came with cleats. The shoes I have are shimano rt32. I can't see how the cleats would work with the shoes, or am I missing something? I suspect I need new cleats. Will these work together? Any help appreciated!

You have shoes for the two screw spd fitting - not the three screw spd- sl.

These shoes take both spd (two slots) and spd-sl (3 holes)

You either need new shoes or new pedals/cleats

Yes that's the ones

So the cleats and pedals are matched, you need new shoes.

Hmmm. I was sold this combo by a very reputable shop. I was completely open and honest. I was traveling through so can't really exchange it easily. How bloody annoying.

Not good.

I think sports direct do the shoes cheap, but they do need to be tried on.

They can come up (all makes) in weird sizes.
