Clipless moment makes WVM's day

Had my first clipless moment today. Right in front of white van man. I ride up to the lights at a cross road and have to stop for a red. WVM is turning right from my left but has to wait for a gap in the traffic. I had to stop on a bit of a down hill slope. I unclipped my left foot as I normally do, but then all of a sudden I found the ground disappearing from under my left foot and toppling over. Tried to unclip my right as fast as I could, but it wasn't quick enough. WVM witnessing all of this going on did a sort of nelson haw haw and commented, "I don't think you wanted to do that".

The only thing that was hurt was my pride.

Thats why I tried trackstanding down a quiet road with no drivers about. I always make sure to put my left foot down and lean to the left.
