Was happily sweating my way to work this morning, was on the A4130 into Henley on thames.

There was nothing behind me, some cars coming in the opposite direction and then a bin lorry on a side road on the opposite side waiting to join the road I was on. The lorry looks left, then right, then pulls out in front of me.

I had to brake hard, and my back wheel started to overtake my front, but I managed to stop and avoid the side of the lorry. I did not come off and actually there was quite a bit of space between us in the end, luckily.

But, it just puts you in a bad mood - huh?

The driver realised his mistake, and gave me back some space and he apologised by flashing his hazards!

I caught up with him later down the road and decided to not make a deal of it, I actually gave him a thumbs up.

I need to get over it. it's only been an hour.

Had a similar one a few months ago when a bus was half way overtaking me then realized there was traffic coming the other way and squeezed me into the gutter as I shouted something. He had little option, but hadn't really looked properly before overtaking.
He passed me properly about 10 mins later with an apologetic wave, probably scared the poo out of him as much as me and needed a few minutes to sort himself out.
