The Swedish transport research labs are doing some research into close passes. All they need to do now is put motorists, police, and politicians on the rollers:

I saw one of these tests from Malaysia recently. They put bus drivers on the road on bikes and did close passes with buses. You could certainly see their undersides gripping the saddles.

It is genuinely very interesting. Interesting that it looks at it from our perspective for a change.

The problem of otherwise typical research examines the matter thr offenders perspective yet we have seen time and again that matters involving human behaviour rarely translate in full, or even close to it, between countries (or sometimes even between countries within the UK).

I think they should be put on bikes on the rollers. Letting them keep their cars will trash good rollers and not teach them anything. Are there any plans for it? If not, I'm not sure what the point is because I'm amazed if this hasn't been studied there before.
