Not a liberal. You do like your assumptions. Then again as do I. As it happens I'm not even totally against smacking of children as long it is a largely symbolic punishment and only carried out in exceptional circumstances. I can think of two instances in my childhood where I was smacked and I deserved it. Most people are perfectly capable of bringing up their children without hitting them as a means of getting them to do what you wish. Frankly I am rather glad you have not bred you would probably make a terrible dad judging by your attitudes.

and how would you know, making statements like that last one show your attitudes at least as much. but if you like I'd be quite happy to meet up so you can say it in person if you like, and you can explain to my wife why she doesnt deserve to have children because of me.

This thread and its contributors is past its sell by date, so I wont be partaking further

You come across as precisely the opposite.

What I'm not however is someone who things the sun shines when a child is around, and it appears a bunch of people on here cant stand an opinion different from theirs
Self-awareness fail.

There are so many coffee shops in the high streets these days that it must be easy to be able to pick and choose one that is not supposedly over run with screaming children and yummy mummy's.

I've removed a number of personal attacks from this thread. Please play nicely. If you get frustrated enough that you forget your sense of decency, maybe it's time to take a bit of a break.

as opposed to
hmm as opposed to talking to the little cherubs as they do today - that works doesnt it - not.

Depends how you do the talking. You have to establish the rules early and stick to them. No good letting a child have its head for a year or two, and then expect "Now, don't do that..." in simpering tones to work. ( just like with dogs, it's all in the tone, you have to be commanding).
