ive sent my mtb back to where it came from, problem after problem, 4 repairs in 4 weeks & finally the shop said we cant fix this but heres a new bike for you, got the new bike home & went fit the extras & road tyres, found the bike had been put together by monkeys bolts over tightened & stripped threads, front brakes over tightened & constantly rubbing on the rim rear brake pads not even hand tight stem wobbling & chain ruined by some prick wrecking the link when fitting it so but onto the car it went, off to the shop demanded refund this time as I was completely fed up with them.

most of what was wrong with bike build would be simple to fix but after the 1st bike repeatedly braking I had major quality concerns & after the bull#### job they did of building the replacement I simply had no confidence in the bike or staff.

almost glad to be honest as I kind of regretted buying the bike in the first place.

now ive been looking around & found what I think is a very nice bike for decent money, nice gear shifters (shimano easy trigger) comfortable riding position, ridged frame 21 gears, but I cant find any info on them on line, ive attached a link below & would be glad for any comments others may have good or bad.

the bike is coming from a bike shop this time so no more monkeys working on it & this seems like a decent fella & doesn't seem to stock any cheap flimsy bikes like I had bought previously, every thing in the shops looks good quality & he said when it come to the service & repair end of the business he wont even take bikes in that are cheap, his words more like (you don't into asda & s##t on the floor & I don't want s##t in here).

bikes £225 & this is not a link to the shop just the bike from online site.

Never heard of it. You'd be better off with one of these, bombprooof, and then get it checked over by a good LBS if you aren't sure about your local Halfords staff skills

ive search for hours now, cant find a single review of any bentini brand bike, found them for sale but no reviews & no info anywhere online about manufacture. should have found something.

that tells me all I need to know, really liked that one too.

thanks vickster but didn't really want another mtb but the spec on that is very tempting indeed. I may still consider it

The subway isn't a mountain bike in my view, but a rugged hybrid. A mountain bike has suspension

If you can go to £300 and want a more road oriented flat bar, you'd do worse than the ridgeback velocity. You could also look at decathlon'a offerings

was thinking about heading to decathlon before i make a decision just to see what they have. Also a few other bike shops near me here so want to have a look around them.

the carrera crossfire 1 is also a possibility although i would have liked either rigid forks or have the choice to lock them.

throwing a new contender into the ring in the form of the ridgeback motion, searched online & getting good reviews on ridgeback, called to a different lbs & saw it. Comfortable & with good spec.

Was in shop for almost an hour chatting, had a ride on a few bikes but the ridgeback has ticked all boxes so far & felt comfortable to ride. Any thoughts on these?

Good solid bikes, British company. An ex colleague of mine had a ridgeback commuter, used and abused in all weathers, bombproof
