Just so you know I did my dummy run at the weekend (only one way) and it went really well. I'm clearly a little unfit but will be able to pick up the pace in no time. Going to do the return journey next weekend as another test and then decide if it's for me.

@dellzeqq From Brighton to Pyecombe on the A23 I didn't see any glass, at least not yet, but no doubt that could soon change.

Just need to sort out a much more comfortable saddle. Any recommendations?

All saddles hurt for the first few long rides. I recommend you stick with your saddle for a bit, it should get easier. after a week or so. Your bum has to get saddle hardened!!

A saddle that is comfortable to one rider may be awful to another.

What route did you take?

Saddle; Charge Spoon is all the rage in these parts but I'm a Brook B17 man myself. But what is bliss for me may be torture for you.
