I put raceblades (actually Raceblade XL) on my Croix de Fer, because in the event that I ever do get some free time/opportunity to take it off road in any situation muddier than a gravel track, I would like to be able to remove the guards easily so they don't get the wheels clogged up with mud. So far the guards have stayed in place since I first fitted them and seem to work pretty well to prevent wet-bum when commuting in the rain
