Hello all - I'm posting this on behalf of one of my friends whose commuter frame died rather radically yesterday - he needs a replacement fairly quickly and so is trying various options.
This is what he says:
"The downtube on my commuter snapped yesterday so I need a new frame. Ideally I want something I can just move all the old parts onto, so it needs to have canti bosses, downtube gear lever mounts, rack mounts and take 700c wheels with clearance for 38mm tyres and mudguards. Geared or singlespeed.
I guess I'm asking for the moon on a stick here, so if you've got something similar I could make work, I'd be interested.
Old and tatty preferred because it will spend every day chained to railings in Brum city centre.
Needs to be 21" if it's a traditional frame, or the equivalent with a sloping top tube. I'm 5'9"."
