Commuter /road bike confused so much choice!

Hi

I am looking for a bike to commute with, like city riding and odd commute about 11 miles sometimes to friends.

I have been looking at a few bikes but there is so much choice I like the speed of a road bike but flat bar.

I've narrowed down to:
Specialized Crosstrail sport disc 2015

Sirrus sport

Boardman hybrid comp

Boardman hybrid team

Ridgeback flight 02

Looking to spend £500 at a push £600, halfords seems a great saving with vouchers and joining british cycling.

So any brands or other bikes you can recommend that's good for the money?

If roads only, ditch the crosstrail. As for the others, get some test rides. Also look at whyte, giant, cannondale

Giant Rapid or Escape. Canondale Quick.

You might struggle to find a full price one in your budget but I think you'd appreciate getting one with a carbon fork if possible, to dampen the bumpy roads!
If you can find something on offer like

I've got an older specialized sirrus, nice bikes but they do seem expensive for what you get now.

The ridgeback flight 02 looks good but it's sourcing a 2014 model seem to be sold out. And the new 2015 is a horrid green!! Why!!

I had to scour the country for mine and got lucky with Cycle Gear in Halifax. Good luck as I think they are in pretty short supply now and I think the 2015 Flight is more MTB oriented than the 2014 which is definitely more road - it's a very quick bike and a great bike though I am biased as a big fan of Ridgebacks in general.
