Hello all,

I'm considering changing my commuter sometime, probably next year. But thought I'd start looking around for some ideas. Maybe see what comes up in sales.
I have very much got into building my own bikes now as I get exactly what I want or budgeted for. Hence starting with frameset.

I've considered second hand but not being completely sure on what life they have had or even if they are stolen, so I won't spend too much time looking at that option.
New framesets aren't all that expensive either.

Spec is:
  1. Road frame.
  2. Must have mudguard clearance & lugs. So probably wandering into Audax/Winter options.
  3. Probably aluminium for longevity. Carbon might be a bit fragile for long term commuter use. Not got any opinions on steel.
  4. Reasonably lightweight.
  5. Ideally carbon fork.
  6. Budget up to around £250.
So far the Dolan Preffisio is looking good at £199. Planet X didn't have much with mudguard options that I could see. I also didn't like the Ribble Audax frame that much to look at.

Suggestions please.

The Kinesis Racelite T2 frame may be an option, Ive got the more expensive Ti version and love it.

Ok, considering change of plan. Rode my carbon road bike to work the other day for novelty value.
It was like a limousine in comparison to my alloy commuter. Alot smoother ride on the same roads.
So considering Carbon frame with mudguard clearance.

Has anyone used a Ribble 365 for commuting or over fair mileage?
Do Ribble ever have frame sales?
