Was in WH Smiths at lunchtime perusing their library of free to read cycling mags when I came across a UK mag specifically for Cycle Commuters. It read quite well with lots of reviews of hybrids, clothing, kit etc. Seems to be published out of Bristol (same people as Cyclig-Plus?) as I recognised Clifton and the docks. As it was the first issue there was lots of repetition of words/pics but it looker good to me. Some of the road positioning stuff was interesting.

Not something I would buy regularly but I may dip in to it now and again.

Any one else seen it?

No - how much was it?

Call me tight if you will but I only ever buy The Comic after I've had a good scan through it and then only if there are articles I really want to read.

Wired UK however I never scan read and just pick straight off the shelf and I read that for work.

Agree tho that at £6 it is a bit of a rip off but you have to remember that it is targeting a specific relatively cash rich demographic who won't balk at that price if they are shelling out on a folder and related kit.

Kudos to Cycling-Plus tho for their direct targeting of a growing niche - can't fault them there.

Interesting thought skwerl. One day, when I'm bored, I must get a bike mag I've bought and look at how much of it I actually read. Bet it's less than 50% of the non-advertising space.

How do you fill a whole magazine called 'Ride to Work' ?

1 Get on bike

2 Point it towards work.

3 Turn pedals.

4 When leaving work, point bike at home and repeat step 3.

Well it's slightly more interactive and real-time than:

'Dear Ride to work, one day last month, while "riding to work" i got wet when it rained. Any suggestions ?'
