I went to sleep at 7 then woke up at 1030.

I think I will have another kip before work tonight, definatlely will use the bike again

For 25 of the last 27 years I've worked shifts, mostly 12 hour day/nights but some early/late's too, at 17 different locations, 50% UK, 50% "overseas" (Germany and the Falklands) and at all of them I cycle commuted, sometimes only occasionally others 100% of the time.

Anyway, I can honestly say I slept so much better after getting off the bike than I ever did getting out of the car. Public transport isn't recommended, I fell asleep more than once and ended up going back from whence I came, lol... But, rather more scary ( to the older and wiser me) are the times I almost nodded off in the car, but I can remember no such moments on the bike....

I used to do this back when I was making ends meet at university. I was doing 10-6 night shifts four times a week stacking shelves in Tescos.

Personally, after finishing my shift I used to unwind for about half an hour in the canteen with a cup of tea and something snackish to eat before riding home - which would take another half an hour. Then I'd have a quick shower and go straight to bed.

Certainly there's no risk of nodding off whilst you're on your bike and I never had trouble sleeping when I did get home.
