Compact Cameras and Helmets

I've never tried it but perhaps a Gorillapod could work ?
 
The problem is not the mount, but what you mount upon it.

If you put a normal sized camera on a helmet it will tip the helmet to one side if not central, and any movement of the head will cause the helmet to move.

You need to go for a small camera such as the Muvi if you wish to helmet mount.

My compact weighs no more than the gopro HD/heavier than average bullet cam,

Ive just checked the specs, and the gopro HD weighs 5.5oz all in, and the pentax P80 in a 4.2 oz, so any mounting options now we've established weight is no issue?
