I was looking to use the garmin with the I pad,I will now upload to a pc,then view the account on the pad.

Apple will allow you to connect to a gps just as soon as they have built one they can sell to you

I don't think the intention is to use it for GPS, rather he wants to upload the data from his Garmin to an iPad.
