Vittoria Open Corsa Evo CX FTW :becool:

Awesome.

Seriously, tyres are always going to be a bit subjective, and everyone has their favourites but GP4000s, Schwalbe Ultremo, Mich Pro4/3 and the Open Corsas are all good tyres.

FWIW I have 1300 miles on the Open Corsas and use them for daily commuting. No punctures and no apparent wear. And they're frighteningly fast with latex. ;)

I've tried most tyres around the £25 to £30 mark e.g. Michelin Pro3/4, Vredestein Fortezza tricomps, open corsa, Ultremo ZXs ..... and I've found that GP4000s seems more resistant to cuts and punctures than the others, whilst being almost as fast in most cases; so they are my tyre of choice.

Another vote for GP4000 S. Superb tyre, light, good grip, good puncture protection. I had some on for about 2000km with no issues or punctures.

I just bought some Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels which came with Mavic tyres. These tyres seem pretty good too and haven't punctured to date, but I have my Conti's in the wings in case I lose confidence in the Mavics.

Replaced the Open Pro's on my road bike last year with with GP4000S's, and they have coped well with the crappy roads here. Excellent grip, very low rolling resistance, and no punctures.
