Contour GPS arrived -first impressions

Ok, my new Contour GPS camera has arrived. It is replacing a Dogcam Bullet.

First impression is that it's a bit of a brick compared to the old camera.

None of the standard mounts that came with it would fit my helmet, so had to buy a "vented helmet" mount (another £20).

It's very obvious when perched on my helmet, not very stealthy. Not sure if that's good or bad too be honest. I've got a bright yellow silicone cover too, but would look even more silly. Suppose cars could see me filtering with a bright yellow camera on my head!

Took me a while to get the helmet mount setup so it doesn't wobble around.

Anyway, first ride soon so will put the footage up if it's any good.

I recommend checking what comes in the box before you buy, as contourHD's have never come with a vented helmet mount.

It came with 2 flat surface mounts and a goggle mount. The vented helmet mount was extra. All the accessories seem pretty expensive, but suppose they need to make money on a niche product!

I like the way the lens rotates, so you can have it verticle or horizontal.
