I have a kids trailer with a clamp that doesn't fit bikes with a disk brake.

Does anybody have experience converting this kind of thing?

If there is something off-the-shelf I could buy it'd save me breaking out the tools

Post a photo of both the relevent parts and I, or someone, will have a think.

There are a few ways to join the two but it depends on how much you want to adapt and how much you just want 'off the shelf'.

Thanks Night Train,

The bike is being brought back to life at the moment but having looked again at the attachments on the trailer I reckon I can fashion something very easily using a standard Burley hitch and rotating the arm through 90degrees. If I can source a split pin of sufficient diameter (or something close to it) I'll be cooking with gas.

I'll post up here the pictures if I succeed or fail!

Cheers,
Dave

IIRC...

Wasn't there a "Weber" hitch that was compatible with both trailers and disc frames.

It would depend on the trailer towing arm, but worth a look?

Chariot trailers also have an axle hitch which may solve the problem, but again will depend on your trailer arm.

I skipped all hitches.

Bent at the appropriate angle and doing away with a hitch - the trailer bolts directly onto the rear wheel.

I don't carry kids any distance in it now, maybe to the village shop for a laugh (they can cycle themselves these days), it was just for tools to the allotment.

Job done
