I keep getting these dull aching chest pains sometimes left and at times right. I’m supposed to be fairly fit so I doubt it’s heart or lung related. I know an x Ray could rule it out. I’m thinking it’s some kind of RSI, when I lift things at work I engage my chest to recruit strength from there to my arms.
Anyone else had this or chest arthritis?

Not a doctor, but "fairly fit" does not in any way preclude heart or lung problems. Chest pain = get it checked out.

Yes a GP diagnosed ( a few years ago) after checking me out and the symptoms, only a temporary thing and one specific side / area.

Don't take chances get actual medical advice.

I have that, or at least that's what they tell me - I think it is some sort of respiratory illness myself (was a heavy smoker for years and also worked with asbestos, now hardwoods), but I have been reassured on many times after full spiromitary tests that my lungs are good (40 year old was mentioned) and of course loads of test on the heart which is also in full working order

But when I do get these flare ups with my chest, the tightness, the sharp pains if I inhale deeply - they are worrying, when I get them I go into the health centre and a nurse puts me on the ecg (or whatever it is) tells me I'm fine and I go back out on the bike. They are very insistent with me never to assume it is chrondowhatever and to get checked out every time, never to worry about shouting wolf

flares up once or twice a year - no idea why it does

I can breath in very deep & hard and it doesn’t hurt one little bit. That’s the good thing. Laying around it can randomly pulse with the ache then disappear. That’s why I’m thinking & hoping it’s muscle/ligaments strain. No tightness at all, on FTP test my legs give up when my breathing is fine, max HR of 193 feels fine & comfortable.
