Coughing fits

Up with another coughing fit, though it's finally cleared off and I get to go to bed again.

Coughcoughcoughcough(clear throat)coughcoughcough. Wheezing like the Exorcist girl. Itchy chin(?). Usually one attack a day or every other day. No trouble breathing.

Am seeing docs. Clear chest xray. V. good peak flow readings (Cyclist! Hah!). Could be reflux, which has previously been diagnosed w/o all the usual symptoms. Can happen any time, though lately more frequent at night.

Anybody else have?

Listen to the doctors!

Having said that ... severe coughing fits were the first sign of my pulmonary embolism, but the original GP misdiagnosed the problem as a chest infection. (I don't think clots show up well on x-rays.) I DID have trouble breathing. I felt like I was trying to sleep at Everest base camp before altitude acclimatisation.

Sleeping less flat I've tried, admittedly without much success as I inevitable chuck the extra pillows. Will try harder. Fits don't always happen at night/when lying down though...
