Crap.I was asked to wait in today,a small parcel for the wife.Deliver time 09-43 -10-43.Waited and waited.11-00 no sign.So i fetched the wife home from work. She gave it while early afternoon. She was told it had been signed for,oh no it hadn't not here anyway.Tracked to a name of PERFECT.Ironic.Being an old Postman i looked in our telephone book.PERFECT lives in Parkside Crescent. He had taken it to the wrong street.A neighbour in the wrong street had signed for it.Why i don't know.So we were promised a delivery at 14-30.Well by 15-00 no sign. Then out of the corner of my eye i spots the said van, tearing past our house. The wife is upstairs looking out of the window,he goes to another house in our street. While my wife watches the occupier shakes her head.He leaves with parcel in hand. Then he has a brainwave he reads the address again,He then sets off to our side of the street, where he encounters me, i am stood outside in the rain i have a conversation with him,he goes.Use effing Royal Mail next time.It makes sense. Not going to mention company but there is a LINK somewhere in MILAN.I should EXPRESS my gratitude we got it at all.But i won't.

Package arrives from stationers, battered. Check inside, sure enough, the contents are battered. Only real damage is two mangled lever arch files and four pens out of a pack of 50; everything else is fine. Ring the company. Can I just keep it, and you give me a refund for the files and a couple of quid to cover the pens? We can't do that; it's all or nothing. Ok. Pack up everything for the return. new delivery comes. Next day, another bloke comes to take the old stuff away. Get round to opening the new box - no pens. Ring up. Oh, terribly sorry, we'll send the pens tomorrow. So, for a £50 order, they've had three delivery trips and one take away trip, when they could have just refunded me £4 and I would have been happy. Funny way to run a business...

I know the guy at the same number as our house in the neighbouring, and slightly similarly* named street well. We take the stuff that the Postie has left at the wrong house round to each other at least twice a month! So it hardly surprises me if a courier manages to do so when they are not in those streets every day but Sunday. I've tried speaking to him, but I don't speak idiot very well.

* Imagine one is named Archibald St and the other Anaconda St and you are not far off.

No way - couriers will leave parcels under our carport for us when we are out but RM insists on leaving a *loody card asking us to troll off to town, spend an age trying to park and then enduring the staff's huffing and puffing, whilst they try and find said parcel, as we have clearly interrupted the vitally important task they were carrying out before we rocked up.

i am currently waiting for a patio heater (for son-in-law) bought from Amazo.n mid October, recieved tracking number and tracked package to Yodel depot arrival at Keighley depot 27th October, delivery to us expected within 72 hours according to the Yodel web page................................current status (today) delay!!!
I have tried ringing them, automated system...no joy!
tried to talk to online customer enquiries, worse than useless!!
tried to find their depot in Keighley, eventually found it using google street view, am going to call unanounced next week will see if I can collect my property.
Bloody nightmare, I have been reliably informed that Yodel drivers (some) "loose" items on a regular basis...................mmmmmm?????

In between here and there
It is nightmare at the moment all carrier are running scared of Black Friday and Christmas. Last year it closed Yodel for 5 days. Our local Parcel Force depot is designed fro 8000-11000 max parcel per day, this Monday it was 15500!! As a business I am really struggling to place my parcels with anyone, let alone a reliable Parcel Carrier. So have some sympathy with your seller this time of year, they have very little control over your delivery!!

According to our postie who delivered a package at 17:30, the Christmas rush started around three weeks ago. She's getting lots of overtime in.
