are egg beaters cleat specific ?i.e will they work with reg spd cleats that i have already for my geared bike or is it seperate shoes/cleats

I didnt get on with the A520's although many do, I opted for spd pedals with a cage.

Ah yes, but in order to ride with them the OP must buy another pair of shoes (sounds like a good enough excuse to me.....)

The A520's are indeed single sided but for me they are much more comfortable and I can get more power when I miss the clip. I binned my M520's there weren't as comfortable for me and a bit more of a faff to clip in.
