What a horrible night ! Looks like ive lost a bit of felt from a shed but there are fences down all over the place . Im just off to see if my chickens still have a house , not that they will be bothered by it Then on to check the boat as its still in a temporary place after its Saturday night float in the floods .
Mrs did`nt sleep too well, was worried the roof would blow off! while I snored peacefully last night, as far as I was concerned the only wind last night was from the hot peppercorn sauce on my steak
A couple of years ago, we added some new areas to our rounds, and the first time I worked one round, with a workmate, we'd been doing some fairly nice terraces and then we turned into a little council estate. Mostly perfectly tidy, but one house we stopped at had rubbish in the garden etc. It looked windswept, on a perfectly calm day. My mate said "I think we're not in Kansas anymore!" Ever since that day, that house has been 'the house that's not in Kansas anymore'.
We have scaffolding surrounding the house at the moment. YeGods it was making an awful racket last night.
I found our bin and recycling boxes had been blown down to the end of the garden this morning.

Id let the scaffolder know about that if I where you . They prefer to be told and check things for themselves than for anyone else to touch it . At least the ones I know do .

It's fine. It was all the tarpaulin cladding making a racket rather then the metal. We've had it up for nearly 4 months now and has survived a mightier storm then last night. And will all be coming down next week.
I can't complain about the wind really, whilst I had a few jobs on I'm now inundated with work, mainly damaged fences etc, however I can't erect new fencing whilst it's blowing a gale so it's slow progress getting jobs done at the mo.
