Looking for a crown race remover tool. Reasonable price. Is there one that will do both straight and tapered tubes

I don't find them to wotrk well - one destroyed a rather rare Kona Impact crown race of mine. I do less damage with careful use of a flat punch and a hammer, resting the end of the steerer on a block of wood. For races where none of the underside is exposed, the "puller" type works best but is too expensive for home use.

An old kitchen knife will do the job. Just carefully tap it between the fork crown and race to open up a wee gap.

Keep moving it round the steerer as you go and you open up enough gap to get something bigger in and you can slowly work the race up and off.
