Just bought a 19" Cube Attention SL29er Hardtail and I am not sure if the frame is the correct size. I have a 30" leg and I am 5'8" tall and when sitting on the bike I have to have the seat set approx 2" below the zero mark on the seat post, which results in the picture attached (seat below the handlebars).
Is this the correct setup? seat below level of handlebars? Is a 19" too big fort height/leg stride?

This is me on the bike, with leg nearly at full extension, body feels upright and seat post is below horizontal line of handlebars and the seat post is -2" into the frame (not within the gauge of 0-10).
As a newbie I am not sure whether a 17" or 19" hard tail 29er is suitable. I have tried to contact cube themselves but no luck, please help!!!

Thanks for the reply Crackle. I have seen that guide and tried working it out last night and realised that I may have been advised on the incorrect size. Hence the post late last night.

Stand over space does that mean stood over the crossbar/frame in front of the seat? I can stand just about without doing any damage

Yes, standover height is exactly that. Can you come off the saddle and not hurt yourself. If you're going to be using this off-road, you need to be sure you aren't going to bollock yourself in the event of an unplanned stop. This would be my main concern from looking at the picture. I don't have a great deal of space standing over mine, perils of a shorter inseam but I have enough so that I don't hit it but I do brush it.

Fit for an off the peg frame, especially a mtn bike, can be within a range, to some extent it's preference and use. Looking at that picture, reach seems to be ok. I would not overly concern myself with the saddle markings either, just set it where it needs to be.

Did you try a smaller size? I know when I tried a hired Attention I didn't like the shorter reach it seemed to have even though the frame size was right, so it could be a larger frame may be better for you. You'd normally advise people to get a smaller frame in a mtn bike but in the case of some Cubes like the Attention, you may not need to. That 19" Cube has a similar length top tube to my 15.5inch 29er.
