Cumbrian Sportive, 11th September

Anyone doing, or done before the Cumbrian Sportive.

sounds very tough at 91miles and 2950m of climbing including Wynrose pass plus others.

I'm 90% sure of doing it, just need to confirm i'm free that weekend.

I have signed up for the Cumbrian, it will be my longest ride to date.

Haven't been up Kirkstone from the windermere side, looks like a long steady drag so shouldn't be to much of a problem. Have been up the struggle but never down it so that is going to be a blast!!


Wrynose pass is a tough climb I put my foot down last time I went up it so I have a point to prove this time.

I will also try not to grip my brake levers to the point of cramp on the hardknott descent (had to stop 2-3 times to shake my fingers out), I learnt a lot about braking that day so hopefully it will go better this time.

Should be a good day. I wonder how many people have signed up for it. It was reading as 26 a few months ago but they pulled that web page so I now have no idea (hope this doesn't portend cancellation).
