Philomena Cunk is one of Morgan/Brookers finest characters.

Ann Droid was also very funny.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
I rather like the fact that the experts she interviews are in on the joke and often just can't keep a straight face. I loved the one where she was interviewing a historian about whether King Arthur came a lot.

Ali G - nah. Never appealed to me.

She's a class act to my mind.

Was put off watching Anndroid, not sure really, it looked a bit sitcommish - is it worth a punt then?
Not generally a sitcom fan, the likes of mrs brown's boys, gavin and stacey, the royle family to name but 3, make me want to gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon.

Can't stand the woman, she's stupid, ignorant and banal.

Just like Ali Gee; he's a complete idiot. What happened since the likes of Dimbelby
This is brilliant, I imagine she'd be very pleased to read such high praise .

The Cunk character they created is genius. Its slightly losing impact now its been done a few time but some of it is genuinely side splitting for me.
Obviously its the type of humour that isn't to everyone's taste

It takes a couple episodes to get properly going, but once it does it's a good mix of humour and sadness. I really enjoyed it.

It's not formulaic and doesn't have any daft catchphrases like the ones you've mentioned.

I enjoyed it. I don't watch much telly apart from House of Games and some documentaries. I rarely make it through a complete series of anything but I watched all Ann Droid and enjoyed it. I've never seen Gavin and Stacey or Mrs Brown's boys but I do remember watching the Royle Family and quite liking it ... so maybe you won't

Is there a Hollywood movie out now with a similar idea? Jenna Ortega stars?

Anyway, I plan to watch "Ann", after hearing lots of good reviews. I initially swerved it, as mainstream TV tends to totally ruin neat SF ideas (this is partly my own problem, for reading a billion SF short stories as a teenager - they pretty much covered all the ideas!)
