It's a bit more complicated than that...
Which is the closest tube station?
Amersham

Actually, it's probably Chesham, as it is for most Brits.

Damn, got budget and planning meetings with the big cheeses at work !
I was counting on you to come along and raise the smartness quotient. I am likely to be roughing it in an old fleece and trackie bottoms......

Junior and me should be there by 12 so all are welcome. Bonus points if you arrive by bike. :okay:
I missed out on my bonus points, but had a very pleasant meal in excellent company - thanks for the invitation, nice to meet you both!

Just got home, I was right about the wind! A pleasant ride though despite the unrelenting headwind when returning home, uphill, with full stomachs....
It was a pleasure to meet another member of the Cyclechat community. I don't think I have met a duff one yet which just goes to show what a decent and interesting bunch cyclists must be?
I will try and give more notice next time but can't promise anything because I am a bit of a 'spur of the moment' kind of guy.
Had some action of the heroic kind on the way home. Some young fluffy yellow goose chicks had been washed into the spillway at one of the canal locks and despite paddling frantically they were making no headway back towards the small weir that was at the spillway entrance. This was only going to end one way once they got tired and it involved being dragged through the grate at the other end of the spillway and down the void with the water that came bubbling out below the canal surface after the lock. Mother goose was in the spillway with her chicks while father stood on the bank honking and flapping helplessly.
This looked like a job for Super Skol Man! I donned my lycra super hero costume (oh wait!....) and leapt into action. Lying on the edge of the spillway I reached toward the chicks but this was a perilous position as mother goose was doing her best to come between me and the chicks while hissing ferociously in my face less than an arms length away, while directly across from me on the opposite side of the slipway at head level and also just a few feet away was father goose, flapping, honking and hissing in best angry goose fashion! Despite these hinderences I successfully plucked the four doomed chicks from the water and put them on the bank next to their father.

All in a days work for Super Skol Man :thanks:
