if it was the waterproof board from places like topps tiles then you can indeed cut it with a wood saw. then throw the wood saw away when project complete because will be blunt, unless you have an old wood saw you can resharpen and set.

it is good stuff

Yes it was this:

It did cut with a saw better than I thought, I'm just glad its done now.
