Hi, just bought a 105 crankest for no1 bike . upgraded the old mega x cos it looks naf. feels ok , anyway i was thinking of utilizing that on bike no2, its a double . currently bike 2 has tiagra triple throughout with a long cage rear mech . will that work ok with a double? i know shim don't recommend it but what do they know. also any other problems you might envisage? .

I'm not sure if the front shifters come in 2 or 3 speed specific I'm hoping i can bodge that if need be. doesn't have to be race ready as long as it gets me from a to b with out to many problems..

thanks.......

I wouldn't bother, you'll end up undergeared at the low end of the range.

But if you go ahead, then you'll have to adjust the front mech bolts to stop the shift to the missing third ring. Long rear mech, not ideal but it can work, looks shoot though...
