we have some super dooper CC cycle jerseys to wear to advertise the community but what about designing a card we can hand out to cyclists we meet out and about tointroduce them to the forum.?

it could be something simple about credit card size with our url and if posted here we could all download and print some cards on our PC's
How about holding a design competition .?

I'm not sure that they work. I've been handing out FNRttC business cards (and they're damned attractive) and it's not been worthwhile. Now - get an article published in the Guardian.....

This was vaguely touched on a while ago in feedback: http://www.cyclechat.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=12414

I think they are a good idea as I've found out about a lot of cycling things in Birmingham through flyers tucked over brake cables.

I wear my kit out as much as possible and have been asked questions about the forum before. I find the worst thing about being given paper on a ride is that it is prone to getting wet or covered in sweat...get around this and they would be awesome.

On sheffield railway station I've noticed paper tags fastened on handlebars, advertising local cycling clubs, don't know how effective they would be tho. many commuters are only interested in cycling to/from work & don't see it as a leisure activity

A friend of mine who was a designer used to have clear plastic business cards. They were made from laser printed OHP transparencies.

If anyone wants to make their own make sure you get the right kind of acetate - your employer will not thank you for melting the inkjet variety inside a company photocopier. ;)

there you go with them negative vibes again:biggrin::biggrin:

If we always thought the worst of everything we would never bother to do anything
There might be many commuter cyclists that would welcome some weekend leisure cycling and socialising with fellow cyclists. maybe not a club but charity rides Audaxes, Sportives etc or even just enjoying interaction and support of a community such as ours .

Think positive . Just joining our forum community would open up a huge resource of information and well worth leaving a message imo
