cycle clubs?

HI everyone anybody know any road cycle clubs in and around newcastle upon tyne,iam in wallsend.i found a couple via google and emailed them for details of how i coulkd join etc but heard nothing back.thought i might get better fitness etc riding in a group find i get a bit bored after 20 miles or so on my own.
