cycle insurance question

I want to insure my bike, but I have built it myself, do I just insure it for the total replacement value of the parts added together?

Also how would this affect deprecitation value? as some parts are older than others.

What do you want to insure it against?

Is it really worth it?

I've never insured a bike although that's probably not so clever.

Just add it to your home content insurance, getting specialist cover is too expensive to be worth taking out (unless you have thousands of pounds of super bike).
