I can only joint the C2W scheme in November. As I started on 1st January, I will have to wait.
That's me p155ed off for the summer. I might just have to get some narrower tyres and make do for 10 months.

Still gives me longer choose something even bigger and better.

My firm wouldn't know what C2W is. In that respects you are lucky. I tried to raise the concept of cafetieria benefits for staff with them (including C2W amongst others) but it went right over their heads.

That's okay I don't belong to it and don't intend to join it either.

There must be something in it though,On 13 Feb 2009 I would have been there twenty years and guess what, they are installing showers.

I thought I was the only one to receive silence as an answer! If there were more people interested in cycling where I work, it would make a difference - as it is, it's totally car dominated. No interest in C2W at all.

Until the companies feel it in their pockets they will not have any interest.

Something like a local rate charge of £X per year for every car parking space priovided, which can be off set by providing a cycle parking space.

we are luck my employer provides it 4 times a year at set intervals i think once they announce it you have a month to apply then it is closed again for a set period however they still are very car orientated

We have secure cycle parking inside a gated compound, 5 decent showers, C2W, nice security men who let you leave your bike inside overnight when you've come off on the way in and a minibus shuttle to the bus and train stations. ;)

But I do feel a bit of sympathy for companies restricting application times, it may have something to do with the accounting / financial year end / fitting the paperwork into a period when work slackens a bit.

I presume that getting into a window for C2W is just because of company policy and not a reflection of C2W in general?

Just asking as I work for a small company and mentioned it to director who just said yeah no problem - go sort it out, let me know the details and i'll talk to the accountant.

My firm won't do it because the leagal department are affraid that the firm will get sued if somebody is killed on a C2W bike and they get the blame for promoting a less safe way to get to work!

Mine is the same. Keep being told they are looking into it but I can't see them ever doing anything about it. My work is outside of the city centre and 90% of people drive. During last summer, there was at most 3 bikes on the rack. During winter, it's just mine.
