Defy 3: as long as it fits you, you won't be disappointed. Great ride. I have one.

If it's the Government C2W scheme then there will be an LBS in the scheme that stocks Giant's. The only time you'll be in trouble is if your work is signed up to the Halfords scheme, then you're stuck with what they have. Equally if you've set your heart on a Boardman you're out of luck if your business is signed up to the Government scheme. That's why I got a Specialized first time round.

There is at least one internet warehouse supplier that has managed to get on the government scheme, if you're happy to build and maintain yourself and want to pay the least possible, I'm guessing a google around will find out who it is (I know as a friend bought an On One Fat Bike through the scheme from them.)

You can use Halfords vouchers at a number of independent bike shops too ;) If you use PX or Ribble, they charge extra on top to cover their hit on the scheme
Halfords can also get branded bikes like giant etc although it will be at rrp, i nearly got a synapse a few years ago but went for the boardman as it was the best bang for the buck at the time .

Interesting to know for the future although swmbo is pretty set on me not having anymore bikes , i mean surely 3 is not enough ?
Although with the wheel upgrades my comp is pretty nice .
