I did today some one came into the workshop looking to buy a bike and had a chat with them about why they wished to get a hard tail for riding 3/4 miles to work on the road!!!

Thats obviouse Because riding on skinny tyres is stupid, uncomfortable, you have to wear lycra and go really fast to ride anything but a mountain bike.

 

[Aperitif]

Last week I talked to a girl who rides between Staines and Brentford. Her horse was poorly, I know nothing about horses but was sympathetic...he was going for a CAT scan (yeah, yeah - I know...) on Monday but I haven't seen her to ask about the outcome. She had been training him up for three years - her best horse and she was flying out to France with the British Equestrian team etc etc. She talked about rugby, argued that the English National Anthem was not a durge, wanted Ireland to come a cropper so she could tease her boyfriend (who lives in Earls Court) and all sorts of stuff - all at a modest 26kph. She is a really nice looking girl too - with "an athletic physique" ie: h.o.t. - but a beautiful conversationalist.

I try to avoid her as I don't want her to get an unrealistic longing for me my bike...

I only ever see the same few faces on my commute, those that say hello do so and them that don't never will.

There's only two folk I see going in my direction, one on the way in and one on the way home. Chat with both. Maybe I should have a lie in and see if I meet anyone different.

I see the same people when i go training. Dont see them every day though.
The Go Spex people i see, i will just blank, and i have more of a want to stick my middle finger up to them then wave, after they have blanked me so many times, for no reason.

I meet a lass t'other day who I have never seen or spoken to, but had a pleasent chat, which ended with her debating if she could feed my two chickens to one of her four snakes.

Never mind this bike lark, I've never talked to so many strangers since I got a dog. Yesterday I walked for half an hour with someone whom I'd never met before and she was attractive too (no I'm not dogging).
