I know exactly what you mean – absolutely no point whatsoever, terrible driving, potentially dangerous and simply a waste of diesel. But exactly the sort of piss poor driving that just ranks as standard in London I’m afraid.

I was driving through Barnes yesterday, narrow road, parking on both sides, oncoming vehicles, red light a few hundred meters up ahead. Roadie in front of me, doing about 20mph – absolutely no point in overtaking him, although not what the young lady behind me thought, beeping and gesticulating at me to get past at all costs. Sat at the lights for a few minutes looking at her ugly red angry face muttering under her breath, felt quite sorry for her in the end…

London is the only place affected by this kind of inconsideration. It would appear that some road users don't have the sense they were born with. I could give you examples but you already have enough of your own.

They are all in a rush to get from A-B in the fastest possible time.Whereas I've slowed down and can't be bothered and generally leave in plenty of time for work.

Means I don't have to jump red lights all day long.
