When I was a kid, if I wanted a ride on my bike, I put on me pumps and went for a ride. If it was cold and/ or raining I put on my anorak and me Dunlop Wayfinders and went for ride on my bike.

Yesterday, I had to put on me leggings, waterproof trousers, special cycling socks and shoes, merino wool base layer, cycling jersey, waterproof jacket, gloves, then I had to take most of it off again because I forgot the heart monitor strap, then put it all back on again, then the gps watch, the helmet, the GoPro camera and the high viz vest. Oh and the lights 'cos it was really foul out there yesterday!

By the time I got on my bike after all that it was time to come home again.

Cycling is a blumen FAF I tell thee. I want to go back to the time when Batman was in colour, but I could only watching in black and white.

Heart rate monitor? GPS watch? Camera?
You're right, it is a faff!

These are essential items you know, if you haven't got these you are sooooooo 1980. How can you possibly enjoy cycling without them?

I was thinking exactly the same this morning before heading off for work after 10 minutes of stretches, fiddling about with various vitamins/ pills and energy drinks, sorting out ipod, all after the careful pannier packing of work clothes, laptop/ fiiles, remembering lights etc.

OH! I forgot me Oakleys too, not that could see throught them cos of the rain, which was so hard it was stinging my eyes!

I almost forgot, I forgot to press the start button on my GPS watch, ' cos it was under my waterproof gloves, so I forgot it was there.

Go on, tilt your head!
I started riding to work this week and yes it is a faf especially as I'm still getting used to my new routines!

Rewarding though!

My routine involves putting my shorts and tee shirt on followed by neck warmer and running jacket, turning strava on and going
