Cycling on the A5

Just wondering if anyone has cycled on the A5 before, how was it? would you recommend finding another rout?
I going to cycle from Liverpool down to my parents home near Rugby (warwickshire)

A5 is fine.

You will be joining at Tamworth off the A51 from Rugeley?

M42 J 10 is tricky.

A clear fast run past Atherstone. I rode this section every morning and evening commuting from B4116 ( Merevale Lane ) to MIRA ( You'll see that ).

This section is FLAT. Flatter than Hartshill.

Are you planning the B4112 through Pailton?

I used to do the Telford - Shifnal bit regularly. It's not a bad ride, but there's a nicer way through the lanes. Depends how much of a rush you're in.
