Using the road from the station to TVP is fairly fine, as Norm said above the last stretch from Cemetery Junction to TVP is the worst bit. Just depends how comfortable you are.

But if you're not sure the NCN4 is easy enough and pops right into TVP.

I haven't cycled along London Rd (The last stretch from Cemmy Junction to TVP). But I would imagine it would be no different to cycling along some of the roads in London that are videoed on a regular basis. I know what the levels of traffic are like on that road probably better than most people, mainly due to the fact I lived along it for a couple of years. If you want to avoid it, you could always take a bit of a diversion through the side streets and exit on to London Rd on Liverpool St.

My concerns about it (and the difference to many London roads that I know) are that the A4 is narrow and busy and (at commuter times) the Reading-bound tarmac will be two lanes of stationary traffic. That generally means that anyone behind you at Cemetery Junction will have little choice other than to still be behind you half a mile later when you get to the 329M.

As I said, I would (and do) ride it as I can hold a decent-ish speed for that distance but I don't know Greg and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Especially someone riding a folder which (from the perspective of a following driver) might look like a toy bike and thus encourage attempted bullying or a punishment pass.
