Charming but somewhat feckless

On the way home last night, around 18:00, I passed what looked like a collision at the junction of Kilmarnock Road and Monreith Road (streetview link). There was a white road bike lying on the pavement just at the Twenty's Plenty sign in the streetview shot, with its front wheel detached, and two police vehicles and an ambulance present.
As it was dark it was difficult to determine what was going on and I didn't want to rubberneck so carried on.
Anybody local know if this did involve a cyclist?
