I always admire people who can forgive and get on with their lives..im not very forgiving sadly.
I try to forgive and forget. Holding on to the negative things hurts me more than the person that has peeved me off. They either don't know I'm narked off or it gives them a warm and fuzzy feeling of happiness to know that I am upset. I ain't about to give them that!
Sometimes I need to forgive a few times as bitterness has a habit of coming back. Forgiving in my own mind I mean. I don't go and find them and tell them all over again.

Victoria Lebrec is a strong woman to be able to forgive hideous driving and the loss of her leg though. She is right about hating not being healthy. I'm glad for her, that she can move on with her life. Most people wouldn't.
5 points and a £750 fine is not enough at all. Although the guilty plea, as it says in the article, will pave the way for proper compensation (like you can compensate for the loss of a leg) for Victoria's ongoing life. I hope she gets squillions!

I'm full of admiration for Victoria Lebrec. She did what she felt she had to do if she wasn't going to be consumed by unpleasantness towards the driver. There was another lady on the BBC ten o'clock news a couple of nights ago. She was a hit and run victim cycling in Epping who ended up in hospital for months with multiple fractures. Fortunately she will probably make a complete recovery. She was extremely cheerful and said that she didn't feel any hatred towards the driver of the 4x4 who left her in the road, but that she wished that he would come forward so that she could calmly tell him that that was not the way that people should behave. I found that quite moving.

I can't think how to word this properly, so I hope the gist of the question comes out, but will her balanced attitude have a negative effect on any compensation amount, as I believe the effect on the victim is a factor?
