Today I ordered a large electrical item. I did a bit of searching online and found it for 250 quid cheaper than the local shop.

That's 250 quid I can spend on cycling stuff surely?

Mrs Noodley does not agree with this for some reason ;)

A £250 saving shouldn't automatically be spent on cycling kit, it would be equally legitimate to spend it on gadgets or camera gear.

I think if you have £125 each to treat yourselves job's a good un!

I just thought Noodly -surely you are not seeing the purchase of an electrical item as 'hers' and stuff for your hobby as 'yours'? Ironing board covers for Christmas?

Not at all. The electrical item was a fridge freezer and I do most of the cooking so I view it as 'my' cold larder. I also do the 'big' ironing on Sunday evening so a new cover would almost be like buying myself a present. ;)

But I did the work to get 250 quid off.....

Tell her it's an investment in your happiness. If she still says no, then she obviously doesn't care much about you.
