Following on from BlackPanther's recent incident, I had two cyclists pull similar manoeuvres this morning.
The first a kid on a BMX, hood up so poor peripheral vision and reduced auditory ability, on the right hand pavement from my view travelling in the same direction as me. He just turned left straight across the road without a thought about checking behind, on a road where motorists speed along too fast in my opinion, although within the 30mph limit.
Second a guy came whizzing out of a side path, with staggered barriers to supposedly prevent such riding, with poor visibility with regards to what is on the road he was about to cross. By the time he bothered to actually look right he was already on the road and had no chance of stopping if an another inattentive road user had been unfortunately passing at the same time.
Both times seeing the potential hazard, I freewheeled and covered the brakes.
