Since returning to cycling, I've bought 2 D-locks, the first cheap but the second quite pricey. Both seem to do the job (fingers crossed!), but in each case the bracket provided for mounting it on the frame has shaken itself to pieces within a few weeks.
I seem to remember when I cycled in the olden days (well, the 1990s :-) these brackets were more substantial things that encased most of one of the long sides of the lock; now they seem to be tiny affairs that just hold on to a corner. Have I just been unlucky, or are these things just too brittle to use on a non-suspension aluminium frame on pot-holed roads?
Can anyone recommend one with a really tough bracket that will definitely last?
