Dakota10 won't turn on

I have a garmin d10 and for this mornings commute I couldn't get it to turn on.

Any solutions? Software update perhaps. I use rechargeable batteries which I changed again this morning

Batteries could be flat. Every now and again, my rechargeable batteries don't charge properly but I tend to notice first in the Hope Vision 1 rather than the GPS.

Try some none rechargeables and if they work, stick the rechargeables back in the charger for a bit.

Is it new? Send it back and get a refund/replacement as you should have a warranty on it from Garmin.
If you bought it used, but paid by Paypal Goods, send it back by opening a dispute and get your money back.

the warranty is not there and i bought it via ebay just over a month now ago

i bought the edge 200 now

Oh - people on Garmin Forums had the same problem and someone found a fix - read this thread.

You have 45 days to open a PP (goods) dispute if you paid that way through ebay. I'd go for that, or see how much Garmin will charge to fix it.

its well past 45 days so will phone Garmin

finally got round to calling Garmin support they said it will cost me £69 for a replacement out of warranty

is it worth it? I bought it new s/h for sixty quid
