Grrrr mutter mutter expletives deleted.

Long story short I offered to help someone out last weekend. I said I could take a bag of old foliage from the Church to the tip. Oh dear, it was three bags - two of which went in the boot. The back seat of the car at this time of year is covered in a coat, scarf, and various other clutter, so I decided to put the third bag on the front seat. Huuuuuggge mistake. The person I was helping out, was the one who put it on the seat. I therefore did not realise how heavy it was and, more to the point, how much holly  was at the bottom of the bag.:angry::angry:

I now have lots of indentations in a holly sort of pattern in the front leather passenger seat.:angry::smile::eek::eek:.

My question is, will these dents fade, or can it be repaired? I do not think the seat has been punctured, but it is definitely indented by the sharp bits of holly. Can anyone suggest what to do? or suggest a forum where sensible drivers might have a suggestion. Thanks in anticipation, and apologies for a Car question.

If I had known how much there would be, I would have cleared more space it the boot, and if I had known how heavy the bag was, I would have put it on the coat, a torn coat being easy to mend than a leather seat. Who knew that dead foliage from flowers would cause so much damage?

It should fade !

Get some leather cream - the stuff you should use (but no-one does) on leather settees to condition them, or possibly some of the horse riding saddle cream. IKEA do some for settees - I nick it for my leather covered bike saddles....

I had similar happen when I had my Golf. If the leather is not punctured try warming it gently with a hairdryer then rubbing in some leather feed (not leather cleaner) in circular movements. You might have to do this more than once, depending on how bad it is.

Thank you for the optimistic response. The other stupid part, is that normally I would have brought home the dead flowers etc, and put them in next door's green garden rubbish bin. But her mother is unwell, and she has her son and daughter staying with her. And sometime this week, I might need to ask my very kind neighbour if she could wash my sheets in her washing machine. So I did not want to ask too many favours at once.
They would still have been in car but for far less time.

Needless to say I will put a stop to carrying this rubbish in the car. If the person I was helping had not been in such a rush!!!!!!:smile:

and breathe, and consume another sip of Italian white wine.

It happens - I transported a rather large 'draughtsman's board' home from a work surplus sale for a mate...... the board rubbed on my rear screen and broke the contacts on the heated elements......hence some searching for a repair kit (conductive paint) and some work to sort it..... favours eh......
